Israel

Because I can't copy and paste with an Apple on this site this picture is out of order. :) This was at the Garden Tomb. It was incredibly moving and humbling to realize where I was and the significance of this place.

After 10 hours to Newark and 11 more to Tel Aviv we finally made it! This is only a few of us from the group. I wasn't able to sleep on the way there so I was SO tired when we made it there.

The picture above is of the Old City. To the far left and not quite in the picture would be the BYU Jerusalem Center and the Mount of Olives. It was so amazingly beautiful!

This is a church built on top of where they believe Mary found out she was pregnant with the Savior. It was so beautiful and ornate. I only am posting a few pictures.
Blogspot makes me crazy! I think it is very un-user-friendly site.

This is the beautiful River Jordan where Christ was baptized. There were many baptisms taking place while we were there. It is below sea level and in the most beautiful area. It looked like the central valley of California.

The Dead Sea was amazing! It is 1,378 feet below sea level. As I get in the water it felt like my legs were being inflated! I just floated on the surface.
The mountains you see is considered Jordan.

After floating we played in the mud! I was standing up in it! It was so fun! There was also a super hot sulfur pool that we got in. That was great too!

Inside the Tomb is the above depiction on the wall. The cross is part of the reason they believe this is Christ's tomb. It was s very spiritual experience.

This is again inside of the tomb.

On the door hangs, "He is not here-for he is risen." What a powerful statement. Christ out Redeemer and Savior lives! He died and suffered for all of us that we too might live again. It was an amazingly spiritual experience.

Outside the Garden Tomb.

The Dome of the Rock is sits on the Temple Mount where King Herod's former temple was. It is one of the holiest sites for Islam and where Muhammad was said to ascend into heaven.

Going inside the Mosque we had to cover our hair.
