This post must be a big deal, not only because we had our son, but it is my, Josh's, first time blogging and uploading pictures to Facebook.
Here's how it happened.
Channing was due on July 23rd, but from almost the very beginning both his mom and dad knew that he would be coming early. He sure did. We were exhausted last Friday night, so we decided to go to bed at 9pm. I was awaken at 11:15pm to Hayley saying, "Uhhhhh Josh...I'm pretty sure my water just broke."
So we had her lay down for a few minutes and get back up, sure enough another gush came and we knew for sure it was amniotic fluid. So we finished packing, called the doctor and let the grandparents know what was going on. We made it to the hospital at 1:30am and Hayley was already dilated to a 4. The nurse was super nice, but didn't do the necessary blood work to get the epidural going fast enough probably because it was her first child. So by 4:30 Hayley got the epidural, but at that point was already dilated to a 10. Channing Ethan was born an hour later at 5:29am. Everything went smoothly both the mom and baby had no complications.

What an amazing feeling to see such a small little guy that was yours. We have never had this type of relationship before and we both have such an overwhelming feeling of love. We could not be more excited. We just can't stop looking at him and holding him and just being with him. We've waited so long for him to come. We feel so blessed!
The grandparents celebrating at the hospital, CHEERS!!!
This is his first bath that we gave him. He did surprisingly well.
We caught him sucking his thumb. When we did an ultrasound it showed him sucking his thumb. In fact if you look at his hand he has a little mark. The nurses told us that it was a blister from him sucking his thumb in the womb. Crazy.
After he gets topped off with formula he will give us a little smile of contentment. Grandma Wilbur said she has seen dimples like his dad.
I like this video, even though he seems a little fussy. Punch. Punch. Kick. Kick.
