Few of my favorite things...

Kalahari sweet hut carmel apples by cursedthing.
I LOVE and absolutely adore caramel apples!!!
It has been so dreary and gloomy here.
Needless to say we have been really
bummed not being able to go to the beach.
So late Saturday night we had great friends over
and crushed up lots of candies, melted the
caramels and put on a movie!
They were so delicious!! Perfect Halloween fun!
I highly recommend this to all!
Happy almost Halloween!

This gave us a good laugh!

Why'd the chicken cross the road? by AaronStout.

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

...A common occurrence in Hawaii

SARAH PALIN: Before it got to the other side, I shot the chicken, cleaned and dressed it, and had chicken burgers for lunch.

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his current problems before adding new problems.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody t old us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES: I have just released echicken 2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken 2008. This new platform is much more stable and will never crash or need to be rebooted.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

How Great Thou Art

I am so grateful for all the blessings that surround us. I can see the Lord's hand all around us. He is in the beautiful land that surrounds us, the kindness bestowed upon us by others, in the warm smile of another, and in all that is good. I cannot sing praises as deeply as I feel for our Father in Heaven. God is so good to us. I am forever indebted to Him and our Savior.

The following hymn has been in my head and heart today:

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Peace Be Unto Thy Soul

Last night my uncle passed away. He was 50 years of age leaving behind a wife and seven children. They have many trials in their lives and need faithful prayers on their behalf. If you will, pray for the Hancock family. They need your prayers.

Generosity & Kindness

We received a package from my old roommate Angelika. It was FILLED to the top with Halloween decorations and thoughtful gifts. Josh and I have been pretty overwhelmed with school. We have been so busy and have had more and more added onto the stack throughout the semester. To get this package was seeing God's love poured down upon us. It was so kind and it was so generous. Unlike us she is now having to pay off her education now that she has graduated. I am so grateful for the friendship she has given us. She has been such a blessing in our lives. The timing could not have been any more prefect. I am so thankful for amazing friends and such wonderful family. Heavenly Father is so good to us. I cannot deny His love and kindness all around us.

We love you Angelika!

Watching the sunset

This is not our car but very typical of North Shore.

It has been very overcast and cloudy here. You can tell the seasons are changing. The waves are starting to pick up and Josh is very happy about that.

Looking out at his playground.

My Dad and Mom's 35th Anniversary!

We met my parents at the airport and flew to the Big Island with them for the weekend. It was wonderful! We really needed the break. It was amazing! We have lots of photos but I am having a hard time uploading them. It keeps saying internet error :( We played so much and had such a great time. Josh and I flew back Monday night and my parents came in on Thursday so we could play with them here on Oahu for the weekend. It was so nice to get their hugs!
